It is the mission of Hope Orphan Ministry to raise the next generation of orphans as men and women who love and serve Jesus as productive, working members of society, understanding the divine power and provision inherent in being a blessing to others. Additionally, Hope Orphan Ministry strives to meet the needs of women abandoned in widowhood by their husbands’ families by offering opportunities to serve within our ministry to orphans. We believe our model of ministry is not only effective in spreading the love of Christ but is positively impacting Africa’s families and economy.
The Hope Orphan Center is an orphan care center, versus an orphanage, located in Bangui, Central African Republic. Serving with a team of Africans who live in Bangui, HOM is able to supplement orphans’ educations by teaching the children, first and foremost, the love of Christ – their personal Lord and Savior – in addition to personal life skills in various trades (such as sewing, agriculture, and computer technology), personal hygiene (i.e. basic cleanliness and how to prevent the contraction of AIDS), as well as pay all school-related costs so the children may continue their educations in the Bangui public school system. All schools in Bangui – including public schools – have associated costs for admissions. Unless school dues are paid in full, children are suspended from school and forbidden to take necessary exams to advance to the next level of their educations.
